India is a country located in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by land area and the second-most populous country in the world, with over 1.3 billion people as of my last knowledge update in September 2021. Here are some key facts about India:

  1. Capital and Major Cities: The capital of India is New Delhi, while other major cities include Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and many others.
